Duality of the spirit and the physical human perception

Within each moment, lies two distinct perceptions; the way our human side sees things, and the way our soul sees them. For example, we have a friend or loved one that is going through a major crisis such as a divorce. The human side of us thinks, “OMG!!! what a horrible thing to go through, it is terrible, absolutely terrible!” However, the soul does not fear challenges. In fact it welcomes them. Because contrast is what helps us grow and evolve. And the bigger the contrast, the greater the opportunity for growth. In fact, many of the biggest challenges we go through in life were created by us before we were born.

Because we wanted those challenges for a variety of reasons; we might need the wisdom and insight gained from the challenge to fulfill our life mission, or we may need the strength gained. Or perhaps we chose to go through the challenges to help us have compassion and identify with the people we will be serving.

For example, a youth counselor who experienced abuse in their childhood, often can connect with youth who have been abused, just by telling them something as simple as, “I understand.” The youth will often sense that the counselor has been through something similar, and will be able to open up to them on a deeper level than they would have otherwise.

This is why it is why it is important to see our life as happening FOR us instead of to us. When we view things as happening to us, we take on the attitude and energy of a victim. We often complain that life is unfair, and we frequently focus on our problems, which on attracts more problems in our life.

When we view life as happening FOR us, we shift our attitude from victim to manifester. We hold our trust in Source (God, the Universe, Ancestors, etc.) and we trust the process. We hold a belief and knowing within us that everything is happening for our highest and best good, even if we do not fully understand how it is doing so. This holds us in the highest vibration which means we are attracting only the best for us.

When life’s challenges come your way; take a step back, breathe deep, let go of your fearful ego’s reaction (as Dr. Dyer says: EGO: Edging God Out), step into your soul and your inner guide, and deliberately choose to see the situation as happening for you.
